ALEX LABBÉ

RACE CAR DRIVER

THE ONLY QUEBEC DRIVER TO HAVE RACED FULL-TIME ON THE NASCAR XFINITY SERIES.

"I am extremely happy to count on the support of Can-Am for the 2021 season. Racing is part of Can-Am's DNA and we both share this desire to surpass ourselves along with the satisfaction procured by victory. As a Quebec driver, I am proud to have a local vehicle manufacturer by my side when I am on the circuits."

PLAYGROUND
Hailing from Saint-Albert, Quebec, Labbé enjoyed a meteoric rise in motorsports after beginning his career in stock-car racing. In 2014, he became the youngest driver to win the ACT Series. In 2016, he did his first complete NASCAR Pinty’s Series and, the following year, won that Series. In 2018, Labbé joined the NASCAR Xfinity Series and earned his place as one of the top 20 best drivers. The talented driver is currently ranked 14th in the overall standings, with 5 top 10 spots to his credit. An astonishing feat, given the size of the team and the means Labbé and the DGM Racing banner have at their disposal. It just shows the magnitude of this driver’s talent.

PASSION
When he was just six years old, Labbé was already dreaming of a career at the wheel of a single-seater race car. His idols were Patrick Carpentier, Alex Tagliani and Jacques Villeneuve. Since the road to Formula Indy and Formula 1 is reserved for the wealthy, Labbé set his sights on NASCAR. He climbed the ladder steadily, demonstrating his skill and smarts each rung of the way. Labbé has always surrounded himself with Quebec-based people and companies who have faith in him and his huge potential to break into the Top 10 of the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Taking a methodical and thoughtful approach to his career goals, Labbé is hoping to land the car that will help him win every week. After that achievement gets crossed off his list, he intends to tackle the next rung of the ladder: the NASCAR Cup Series.

HIGHLIGHTS
Alex Labbé holds a diploma in high-performance technology from University of Northwestern Ohio. That education has given him a good understanding of the construction and engineering principles behind a high-performance race car and, after his driving career, will be useful to build his own NASCAR racing team.

CAN-AM RACES
Starting Saturday, Alex Labbé's car will be easier to spot on the track as it will once again sport the bright Can-Am colours we know. Indeed, the manufacturer has decided to renew its commitment of the last year to the Saint-Albert driver. “2020 has been a particularly difficult year for the vast majority of athletes who depend on sponsors to practice their discipline. So it was important to us that Alex knew he could count on our continued support. Alex is an incredibly talented young man who constantly strives to surpass himself, and this is totally in line with our values,” said Julie Tourville, Director, Global Marketing, Can-Am Off-Road. As a result, a total of eight races will be run under the banner of the Quebec brand of motorsports:

Phoenix, Arizona, March 13, 2021
Circuit of the Americas, Texas, May 22, 2021
