What is the learning key?

The Learning Key is a unique device to Sea-Doo and other select BRP vehicles. Based on the RF D.E.S.S. (Digitally Encoded Security System) Key that comes with every craft, it offers that device two primary functions. One, by using a radio frequency chip with a unique code paired to each individual craft, it acts as a means to prevent theft or unauthorized use when the craft is unattended. Two, it functions as a safety lanyard. Should the lanyard connection be pulled from its mount, as when a rider falls off the craft or leaves the controls, the engine is stopped immediately.

The Learning Key, however, adds another dimension to the D.E.S.S. Key’s functionality. Thanks to its ability to be uniquely programmed at your Sea-Doo dealer, the Learning Key can not only be used as a spare for your watercraft, but also perform additional functions. Example? The Learning Key can be programmed to work with several craft, giving you a unique, versatile spare for any Sea-Doo personal watercraft you own.
