Story of BRP

In 2003, BRP became a stand-alone company. We brought with us an impressive portfolio of products that had been enabling unforgettable experiences for our customers for a long time.

In 1937, Joseph-Armand Bombardier is granted a patent for the first ever vehicle that can travel on snow, developed in his garage in Valcourt, Quebec, through determination and daring. A second, larger vehicle follows, and he founds his own company in 1942: L’Auto-Neige Bombardier Limité. Over the years, J.-A. Bombardier refines his design, and launches the Ski-Doo in 1959, already powered by a Rotax motor. This innovative product creates a new sport. In the years to follow, always seeking to innovate, every playground was explored, revolutionizing the powersports industry.

Today, the BRP riders can be transported on snow, on water, on the ground, and even in the air. We’re proud of being a Canadian company that’s now recognized worldwide. Our eight brands, Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo, Can-Am on-road and off-road, Lynx, Evinrude, Rotax, Manitou and Alumacraft, are iconic in the powersports and marine industries. We are united by our passion to keep moving forward towards new adventures, giving our customers around the world the power to create their best memories.

Our Promise

Our brand promise embodies what we do and why we do it. It speaks to our unique heritage of ingenuity and excellence behind our products and the unforgettable experiences they deliver. It is about the machines we build and the emotions they provide. A commitment to always obsess about creating the very best experience for our riders, without compromise.

Our Purpose

We exist to create new ways to move people, so that experiences are measured in emotion rather than distance. We reimagine the way you access your world.

Our Beliefs

The truths we share. The foundation of everything we do.

Progress doesn’t come from standing still

We believe every innovation comes from doing, not just thinking or debating. Our relentlessness is our greatest asset. It keeps us up at night. Thinking bigger. And daring harder.

Being outdoors makes us feel alive

We weren’t put on this earth just to stare at a screen. We’re here to feel our hearts race, to feel the wind in our hair, and to get a little dirt under our nails. The great outdoors makes us feel human, and we’ll stop at nothing to soak it in as much as we can.

We ride for the journey, not the destination

In that sense, our journey, like our riders’ journeys, is never ending.
