PLAY IT RIGHT

  • I observe and obey local rules (e.g. age restrictions, license requirements, etc)
  • I make sure my vehicle is properly insured and registered when required
  • I am able to present all papers when required (e.g. permit, registration card, insurance document)
  • I stay out of restricted zones
  • I ride at reduced speed in harbors and strictly respect speed limits
  • I do not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs

PLAY IT GREEN

  • I make sure my vehicle is compliant with regulations (e.g. environmental regulations)
  • I respect fauna and flora and adapt my speed in areas with a high wildlife population density
  • I am careful to always dispose of my trash in an appropriate container

 

PLAY IT COOL

  • I respect other boats and keep away from them, especially when they are anchored
  • I pay attention to the way I ride and avoid affecting others
  • I keep a safe distance from the shore and designated recreational areas where other people are swimming or playing

 

PLAY IT SMART

  • I follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for use specified in my operator’s guide and on the safety labels placed on the vehicle
  • I check the weather conditions before riding
  • I am wary of off-shore winds and tidal currents
  • I make sure I have enough fuel and battery life before riding
  • I check the controls function as intended
  • I ride with others as there is safety in numbers

 

PLAY IT CIVIL

  • I am careful how I use launching ramps
  • I leave my trailer in the designated parking areas
  • I respect other ramp users and wait for my turn to launch my watercraft


PLAY IT SAFE

  • I follow the recommendations on safety equipment and protective gear specified in my operator’s guide
  • I make sure everyone on board is wearing wetsuit shorts and a PFD (Personal Floating Device)
  • I make sure the tether cord lip is attached to the driver’s PFD at all times, as it cuts the engine ignition if the driver falls overboard
  • I bring a towing device (anchoring point and tow rope)
  • I take a communication device with me (e.g mobile phone)
